Reading Half Marathon

Leaving the house at half five this morning at minus one degrees was not a fantastic start, but what a day it turned out to be.  Reading Half Marathon is always a great event and this year again we were not disappointed.  We were asked to play this time right by the front of the Mad Stad and I must say we could not be happier.  The sun shone and the runners were a pleasure as always to play for.  Watching ordinary people (not forgetting the professionals) running for such worthwhile causes is always emotional and we salute one and all.  Every person there today deserved our support.  A special mention to the man in the Mankini who actually managed to put Amy off her song and of course those that dressed up in costumes, it must have made that equally hard.

As always the crowd got behind the runners and requests were flying in...... keep on running seems to be a firm favourite..... can't imagine why!

After playing for our own personal marathon of over four hours, we left tired, happy and hungry.  Many thanks to those runners who took the time to wave and dance as they passed us, we know how hard it was at that point and for those who were struggling with cramp and their emotions, we hoped we helped in some small way.

Many thanks and congratuations to all the runners and organisers, and here's to 2013.
